Florence Welch announces new album Everybody Scream, out Halloween
A spiritual reckoning on mysticism, mortality and womanhood
Florence Welch has confirmed her sixth studio album Everybody Scream will be released on Friday 31 October 2025. The announcement arrived with the album’s title track and an accompanying video directed by Autumn de Wilde — marking the first glimpse of Welch’s latest chapter as Florence + the Machine.
Written and recorded over two years, Everybody Scream features a close-knit group of collaborators including Mark Bowen of IDLES, Aaron Dessner and Mitski. Bowen also appears in the new video for the title track.
The album charts Welch’s post-surgery recovery following a life-threatening health scare on the Dance Fever tour. Drawing inspiration from folk horror, mysticism and witchcraft, Everybody Scream explores themes of womanhood, ageing, loss, and spiritual healing.
Across five previous albums — Lungs, Ceremonials, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, High As Hope and Dance Fever — Welch has forged a singular voice and stage presence that has earned her critical acclaim, festival headlines, awards and a string of UK and US chart-topping releases. In addition to publishing her own lyric and poetry collection Useless Magic, she has collaborated with artists including The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
