Erykah Badu confirms Manchester gig as part of Mama’s Gun 25th anniversary tour
The Return of Automatic Slim tour celebrates a genre-defining album
Erykah Badu has announced a run of UK and European shows as part of The Return of Automatic Slim Tour: Erykah Badu Mama’s Gun ’25, marking the 25th anniversary of her critically acclaimed second album Mama’s Gun. The celebrated artist will headline Manchester’s O2 Apollo in October 2025, with additional UK dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The tour will reimagine highlights from the 2000 LP including Bag Lady, Didn’t Cha Know? and Cleva, accompanied by a selection of material from Badu’s extensive catalogue. Known for her unique blend of neo-soul, jazz, hip-hop and funk, Badu is widely regarded as one of the most innovative voices of her generation.
Released in 2000, Mama’s Gun cemented Erykah Badu’s place in music history with its lyricism, experimental production, and deeply personal storytelling. The upcoming tour will revisit those tracks through a modern lens, showcasing the artistry that continues to influence generations of performers and producers.
The tour also spans major cities across Europe and North America, with stops at Zenith in Paris, Alcatraz in Milan and Santa Cecilia in Rome, before concluding in Dallas in December. The UK leg forms part of a broader global celebration of Badu’s career, which now spans more than 25 years and includes five Grammy Awards.
