Jack Valero has announced Manchester and Liverpool gigs for this October in support of debut EP This Is A Nightmare.
The singer and his full live band will open a string of UK tour dates with a headline show at Liverpool’s Kazimier before a Manchester gig at Gullivers.
This Is A Nightmare will land on 15 September 2023 via Modern Sky UK, home to Lottery Winners, Slow Readers Club and Jamie Webster. The EP follow recent singles Temporary Helplessness, Pull Back The Hammer and Catch My Soul as well as appearances at festivals including SXSW, Glastonbury and Kendal Calling.
Catch My Soul, which features on the EP, was produced by Romeo Stodart of the Magic Numbers. The track embraces a retro feel, full of intensity and timeless rock’n’roll. Speaking about the track Jack Valero said, “This song is about a more reckless time of my life when I was going out too much and doing too much. The idea of Catch My Soul is delving into the desperate point when I felt like it was taking over and I needed someone to ‘catch my soul’ and save me before it was too late.”
The single is accompanied by a video imagining Jack and bandmates Maxine Cahill (bass), Theo Williams-Burchell (drums) and Amie Shouler (backing vocals) as the unlikeliest of criminal gangs. Armed to the teeth with foam guns, the foursome plot a heist at a toy shop in Brighton.
