Colony House release new album ahead of Manchester gig
Colony House find perspective with new album 77 (Pt. 1)
Colony House have released their fifth studio album 77 (Pt. 1) ahead of a run of dates including a gig at Manchester Academy with Flipturn. The Manchester gig is one of six UK and Ireland dates on which they will support Flipturn.
Blending nostalgic 1990s aesthetics with spiritually themed lyricism, the new record explores concepts of eternity, forgiveness and connection — all framed by the band’s energetic live sound.
The Tennessee-based four-piece — brothers Caleb and Will Chapman, joined by Scott Mills and Parke Cottrell — describe the album as a meditation on what it means to “look backward and forward at the same time.” Frontman Caleb Chapman said: “77, the number, means a lot of things to a lot of people. Biblically, it’s the number of forgiveness. Spiritually, it represents completion or wholeness. For us, it’s become a symbol of eternal perspective — a lens to look at love, loss, and life with a little more intention.”
Recorded with a no-nonsense, band-forward approach, the album retains Colony House’s sincerity while embracing a more expansive sound. Chapman added: “We’ve always wanted our music to bring people together — and this album is asking: what does that look like in a world that feels more divided and distracted than ever?”
77 (Pt. 1) features seven tracks, including Telephone Pole, Atomic, and OK OK OK OK. A second instalment, 77 (Pt. 2), is currently in the works.
As part of their European tour this autumn, Colony House will support Florida indie band Flipturn at Academy 2 in Manchester.
