Pinkshift share new single Authority Problem ahead of 2026 Manchester gig

A furious new track follows acclaimed album Earthkeeper

Pinkshift have returned with Authority Problem, a blistering new single released in the wake of their latest album Earthkeeper, which arrived earlier this year via Hopeless Records. The track blends searing punk energy with sharp political commentary, delivering a pointed rejection of institutional power and forced conformity.

The track lands ahead of a run of UK dates in early 2026 which include a Manchester gig at Manchester Academy. The Manchester gig is one of five UK shows confirmed where Pinkshift (vocalist Ashrita Kumar, guitarist Paul Vallejo, and drummer Myron Houngbedji) will support Grandson.

“Fuck ICE, fuck the left and the right, fuck the false decorum of rules and laws and executive orders just created to make people feel small and helpless. Only I know who I am, and if you disrespect me then I don’t care, you’ll feel my wrath,” the band said in a statement about releasing the single at this point in time.

The single builds on the sound and themes of Earthkeeper, where big riffs met equally bit ideas. “The first album was influenced a lot by stuff we grew up listening to because we’d never really toured,” offers Myron. “It’s really cool that now, after all this touring, there’s bits and pieces of all these bands we wouldn’t otherwise have listened to that have weaved their way into our songwriting.”

When is Pinkshift supporting Grandson at Manchester Academy?

Pinkshift support Grandson at Manchester Academy on 26 February 2026. The Manchester gig is one of five UK dates they will play:

26 February 2026 – Manchester, Manchester Academy

1 March 2026 – Bristol, Electric Bristol
2 March 2026 – London, O2 Forum Kentish Town
