Parov Stelar announces new album Artifact for November release

Electronic innovator explores memory and imagination on Artifact

Celebrated Austrian producer and performer Parov Stelar has confirmed details of his new album Artifact. Known for blending jazz, swing and electronic sounds into globally recognised hits such as All Night and Booty Swing, Stelar describes the new project as his most ambitious yet.

Artifact continues to explore Parov Stelar’s mix of genres, while bringing classical influences to the fore. The result is an album that shifts between sweeping electronic pop, late-romantic grandeur and cinematic power.

Speaking about the record, Parov Stelar said: “What makes me happy about Artifact is that after 30 years of making music, I’ve landed back where it all began: in curiosity, in wonder, in, ‘What happens if I just try this now?’ For me, it was like a rush. Every day brought new ideas, new images, new sounds. I felt completely immersed in the world of this project. At times, it was a real tsunami of emotions.”

The album concept examines the “artifacts” people leave along life’s journey: memories, fragments and thoughts that exist outside time, informed by Stelar’s fascination with childhood recollections, parallel worlds and imagined afterlives.

Artifact is accompanied by a series of striking visuals, combining nostalgic VHS tones, sci-fi motifs and period aesthetics from the 1920s to the 1950s. These videos form part of a broader visual universe, offering open-ended narratives designed to spark audience interpretation.

Lead single Rebel Love previews album sound

The project is previewed by lead single Rebel Love, which collides strings with electronic energy to create a sophisticated, dynamic track. Its accompanying monochrome video, set in the late 19th century, tells the story of an explorer leaving Austria for unknown lands on a journey that may prove doomed — or perhaps saved by an unseen presence.
