Multi Grammy Award winner Lauryn Hill has announced that she will perform a rare gig at the Manchester O2 Apollo on Thursday 25th September following the phenomenal demand for her two sold out London dates earlier that month. She will also perform in Birmingham on Tuesday 23rd September.

The American singer-songwriter, rapper, producer and actress established herself as one of the leading figures in the music industry following her success with The Fugees and also as a solo artist, which saw her release the critically acclaimed and incredibly successful multi-platinum 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The album earned a remarkable five Grammy Awards including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. The album hit the number one spot on the US charts and the number two spot on the UK charts and sold in excess of 12 million copies worldwide. Her time with The Fugees saw her be a part of the second biggest selling R&B act worldwide since Michael Jackson, with their hit album The Score selling over 6 million copies in the US alone, and hitting the number one spot in a number of countries.

Over the last few years, she has performed and toured infrequently, and this gig marks an extremely rare opportunity for fans to see her live in Manchester.

Lauryn Hill performs at the O2 Apollo on Thursday 25 September 2014. Tickets priced £35 / £45 / £50 go on sale 9am on Friday 13th June.
