Holy Wars channel grief into new single Metamorphosis
A cathartic new release inspired by personal loss
Holy Wars have unveiled their new single Metamorphosis, a haunting industrial rock track blending the mechanical grit of Nine Inch Nails with the soaring vocal style of Evanescence. The single arrives alongside a striking music video, now available to stream online.
Vocalist Kat Leon wrote Metamorphosis in the wake of the death of her parents and sister. “Metamorphosis is about bringing closure to the shadow self and surrendering,” Leon said. “It’s about allowing yourself to heal so the light can come in.”
The track explores themes of grief, guilt and transformation, balancing pulsing synths and distorted textures with emotional clarity. The track marks a sonic evolution for Holy Wars, following the recent singles Crucify and I Feel Everything.
With a growing reputation for emotionally charged performances and uncompromising songwriting, Holy Wars have spent 2025 building momentum after the release of their EP Cult Classic on Pale Chord/Rise Records in late 2023. This year has seen the band perform at major EU and UK festivals including Download, Rock For People and Rock am Ring, as well as join Evanescence for a one-off show in Alabama alongside Poppy. Additionally, the band supported nu metal pioneers Kittie for a string of club shows in the EU/UK in tandem with their festival appearances
“You never truly learn who you are as an artist until you hit the road hard and this past year gave us a ton of confidence and clarity going into the future of this band,” Leon added.
Holy Wars are set to perform on ShipRocked in January 2026 alongside Halestorm, Motionless In White, Knocked Loose and more. Further music and tour news is expected in the coming months.
Holy Wars are: Kat Leon (vocals), Nick Perez (guitar, production), Matt Cohen (bass), and Johnny Tuosto (drums).
Metamorphosis is available now on all major streaming platforms.
