Chance Peña shares sophomore album ahead of Manchester gig
New album arrives ahead of UK dates with Tom Odell
Rising indie-folk artist Chance Peña has released his second album When I Change My Mind I Don’t Mean It via Columbia Records. The release precedes a string of UK shows this October, including a Manchester gig as part of Tom Odell’s A Wonderful Life Tour. The Manchester gig takes place at Co-Op Live.
Written in a snow-covered cabin in California alongside Hayd and Sarcastic Sounds, the 14-track album blends poetic intimacy with expansive folk production. If features West of Ohio, a plaintive ballad about distance and home, Collapse, a harmony-driven anthem, and Wolves of Worry, which captures the weight of anxiety with striking emotional depth.
The record follows 2024’s Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming, expanding on Chance Peña’s reputation for introspective and soul searching songwriting. His Grammy-winning work includes co-writing John Legend’s Conversations in the Dark, and his recent collaborations span artists such as Sam Barber. Following a US tour with The Lumineers, Peña joins Tom Odell across Europe this autumn before heading to Australia for headline shows.
