Call Me Loop has shared her latest track, the piano-led ballad Painkiller as she switches pace, showing another side to her music.
Painkiller shows a contrasting side to the rising UK pop artist and marks her second single of the year so far. Painkiller compliments previous upbeat pop track Year of the Ex perfectly.
The track is packed with emotion and puts additional emphasis on her vocals on top of stripped back production.
Painkiller also marks a hugely personal approach for Call Me Loop, who said about the track, “Painkiller is probably the most exposing song I’ve ever released, showing a side of me that I’ve very rarely put out there before. It’s about making mistakes, accountability, heartbreak, anger, guilt… all rolled into one. It was such a cathartic song to write, at a time when I was starting to come out the other side of a very low place. I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous – and excited! – to put a song out into the world.”
