Coheed and Cambria share new version of Goodbye, Sunshine | Manchester gig in October
Coheed and Cambria unveil new take on Goodbye, Sunshine
Coheed and Cambria are set to headline Manchester Academy in October 2025 as part of a UK tour in support of their tenth studio album The Father of Make Believe. The Manchester gig is one of five headline UK dates they will play.
Coheed and Cambria released their latest album The Father of Make Believe earlier this year via Virgin Music Group.
The band have now shared a brand new Endless Summer version of Goodbye, Sunshine featuring Nick Hexum of 311. Unlike a remix, this version was written from scratch with a lighter, tropical direction. Co-produced by dub legend The Scientist, the track also features contributions from Zakk Cervini and Julian Gargiulo.
Speaking about the rework, frontman Claudio Sanchez said, “The arrangement was born out of a Chicago Q101 Pop-Up stripped down radio performance. We enjoyed the version so much, we chose to explore it further by enlisting the help of 311’s Nick Hexum and dub producer The Scientist.”
A dub mix version, produced and mixed solely by The Scientist, was released alongside the single.
Directed by Josh Forbes, the accompanying video offers a slapstick homage to 80s beach party culture, referencing previous Coheed visuals and films such as Club Paradise. Sanchez added:
It plays within the concept of the alternate realities we explored in our previous videos for our new album ‘The Father of Make Believe,’ while paying homage to one of our earliest videos, “A Favor House Atlantic” with some inspiration from the 1986 Harold Ramis comedy film, ‘Club Paradise'”.
