Sam Outlaw announces new album The Nonessential
Sam Outlaw has confirmed the upcoming release of new album The Nonessential which will land in March.
The album is previewed with new track I Never Saw Him Cry.
The twelve-song compilation features nine previously released singles and B-sides alongside three previously unreleased tracks. It’s an album Sam Outlaw describes as his “anti-greatest-hits album” featuring a collection of ‘orphaned songs’ which have never found a place on his EPs or LPs. The tracks have been re-mastered by multiple GRAMMY nominee Peter Lyman.
The new tracks featuring on Sam Outlaw’s The Nonessential are Waiting For Someone, I Never Saw Him Cry and In My Arms (acoustic).
Speaking about I Never Saw Him Cry, Sam Outlaw explained, “When I first fell in love with classic country, I used to put on albums by George Jones and Vern Gosdin and just cry, listening to their stories. I’m not always in the mood for a sad story, but there’s something so freeing about diving into the pain of an experience and channelling the heartache with music.”
Sam Outlaw will release The Nonessential on 24 March 2025.
