Morganway will headline at Manchester’s Deaf Institute in April following the recent release of their latest album Kill The Silence.

The Manchester gig is one of 14 UK dates they will headline.  They will also headline at Birkenhead’s Future Yard.

Kill The Silence marked Morganway’s return following their 2023 release Back To Zero.  Since then they have opened for Skunk Anansie, Belle & Sebastian, Elles Bailey and Scarlet Rebels across the UK and Europe, and have graced festival stages at the likes of The Long Road, Belladrum, Towersey Folk Festival and Cropredy.

The six piece recorded Kill The Silence across four days at Foel Studios in Wales.  The album draws in their Americana roots but kicks it up a gear with a grittier rockier sound.  The album takes in the struggles of independent musicians but also the celebrations and bright spots as they move onwards.  It embraces inspiration in the forms of Bob Dyland and Brandi Carlile in being spontaneously recorded and less rehearsed.

As the bands SJ Mortimer explains, “This truly feels like a new chapter for us. We poured our souls, blood, sweat, and tears into this album. There’s magic in recording music the “old school” way – plugging in together and playing live, warts and all!”

Morganway are a Norfolk/Cambridge-based six piece, founded by twins Callum (lead vocals, bass) and Kieran Morgan (guitar, vocals). SJ Mortimer (lead vocals), Matt Brocklehurst (keyboard, vocals), Nicole J Terry (fiddle, vocals) and Ed Bullinger (drums, vocals) complete the lineup.
