Based on the movie of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical is set to land in Manchester at the Manchester Opera House during its UK tour.
After originally opening in Australia and enjoying a sell-out two year run, Priscilla Queen of the Desert The Musical moved to London’s West End before enjoying a spell on Broadway. It has also won numerous awards all over the world including Olivier and Tony awars.
The heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends, who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship, sees the trio finding more than they ever dreamed of. Priscilla Queen of the Desert features an array of outrageous costumes and a feast of dancefloor favourites including Say A Little Prayer, Go West, Always On My Mind, Hot Stuff and It’s Raining Men.
Priscilla Is set to start former Blue boy band member Duncan James, whose credits away from the pop scene include playing Warner Huntington III in the West End production of Legally Blone and Billy Flynn in Chicago.
Priscilla Queen of the Desert is being brought to Manchester by David Ian Productions. David Ian commented “I am absolutely thrilled that audiences have demanded more of Priscilla! The reaction the show gets at theatres everywhere is like something I’ve never witnessed before – it is truly a party not to be missed. Having Duncan James play Tick is just the icing on the cupcake!”
Priscilla Queen of the Desert runs at Manchester Opera House from 20 – 29 August.
