Newton Faulkner has announced an eleven date UK and Ireland tour which includes a Manchester gig at the Albert Hall in May 2019.
The announcement comes as Newton Faulkner releases his new single Wish I Could Wake Up. He has also revealed he will release his new album The Very Best Of Newton Faulkner … so far in March 2019.
Wish I Could Wake Up sees Faulkner tackling the commercialism of Christmas and not losing sight of the people who actually matter. He explains, “This song’s about wanting to wake up next to someone special at Christmas, and how that person can make any day, Christmas or not, seem so much better just by being there.”
His 31-track double album The Very Best of Newton Faulkner … So Far will be release in March 2019. The album will include favourites Dream Catch Me, Write It On Your Skin and Clouds as well as three new songs. The second disc will host cover versions including newly recorded live versions of Bohemian Rhapsody and Send Me On My Way.
Faulkner commented about the album, “The Best Of feels like a real milestone, I’m so proud of it as a body of work and the second disc was so much fun to make. I love the challenge of covering songs, which probably is reflected in my song choices. For people that have seen me live before, there are some old favourites and there’s also some tracks no one has ever heard me do”.
