Jehnny Beth shares new album You Heartbreaker, You
New album marks the follow up to 2020’s To Love Is To Live
Jehnny Beth has shared her second solo album You Heartbreaker, You. The artist produced the album with long-time collaborator Johnny Hostile.
Known for her fearless presence both on stage and screen, Jehnny Beth said of the record, “We’re living in a dark time, full of drama and barbarous tragedy. It became clear to me that, in these times, we either learn how to scream really well, or we learn how to whisper.”
Described as visceral, abrasive and cathartic, the album confronts the experience of emotional dislocation in a chaotic world. Themes of heartbreak, survival and transformation course through the tracklisting, which includes Broken Rib, Reality, Stop Me Now, and High Resolution Sadness.
Jehnny Beth established her name in the acclaimed punk band Savages, who received Mercury Prize nominations for both of their albums Silence Yourself (2013) and Adore Life (2016). Since her 2020 solo debut To Love Is To Live, Jehnny Beth has collaborated with Idles, Gorillaz, Sextile and Bobby Gillespie, and earned widespread acclaim for her acting roles in Jacques Audiard’s Paris, 13th District and Justine Triet’s Palme d’Or and Oscar-winning Anatomy of a Fall. She also hosts the ECHOES music series, spotlighting breakthrough acts such as Wet Leg.
