Rianne Downey to release debut album ahead of UK tour
New album The Consequence of Love supported by instore acoustic tour and headline dates
Scottish songwriter Rianne Downey will perform a string of instore acoustic dates and signings and headline shows in support of her new album. Her debut album The Consequence of Love will land next week. She will them embark on a run of dates including Bury’s Wax and Beans and Liverpool’s Jacaranda.
Following the instore run she will then hit the road for a string of headline dates. The run includes a Manchester gig at Band on the Wall and Liverpool gig at The Arts Club.
The album features ten songs written by Downey, including collaborations with Nathaniel Laurence, and follows a busy summer that included her set at TRNSMT Festival. The record was produced by Grammy winner Ryan Hadlock at Bear Creek Studio, Seattle, and showcases Downey’s mix of country, folk and Americana.
Featured on the album is previously released single Angel. Reflecting on the song, Downey said, “Angel is one of those songs where I sat back and thought, ‘Did I just write that?’ It’s probably the track I’m proudest of. A classic fingerpicked country tune, I wanted it to feel timeless, like it could’ve been written today or in the 1950s.”
She added, “I think women are taught from a young age that we have to perform or serve to be worthy, and we’re constantly made to feel like we’re not enough… This song captures the moment I realised you shouldn’t have to perform for anyone. You don’t need to be ‘enough’ for the right person. Just being is enough.”

Rianne Downey is set for an acoustic set and signing at Bury’s Wax and Beans on 26 October 2025. She will also perform instore at Liverpool’s Jacaranda on 24 October.

Rianne Downey headlines at Manchester’s Band on the Wall on 5 December 2025. Ahead of that she will perform at headline Liverpool gig at The Arts Club on 8 November.
