Wendi Peters, Dave Willetts and Kerry Ellis set to star in Wonderland at the Palace Theatre, Manchester

Having delighted audiences throughout the UK, Wonderland comes to Manchester’s Palace Theatre next Monday.

The enchanting musical adaption of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, features a stellar cast including West End and Coronation Street star Wendi Peters as Queen of Hearts.  Also appearing in the touching story of love and adventurous exploration of who we are, who we want to be and the power of magic in our lives, is musical theatre legend Dave Willets.  Willets, who rose to fame playing the title role in Phantom of the Opera appears as White Rabbit.

Kerry Ellis will star in Wonderland The Musical at the Palace Theatre

West End and Broadway leading lady Kerry Ellis guest stars as Alice for evening performances and the Saturday matinée. Kerry is one of the West End and Broadway’s most notable stars, having played lead roles in Wicked, We Will Rock You, Cats, Oliver! and Miss Saigon. She has also achieved chart-topping success as a recording artist, including collaborations with Queen guitarist Brian May. Their new album, Golden Days, will be released on 7th April this year.

West End leading lady and Britain’s Got Talent’s Rachael Wooding will guest star as Alice for the Sunday matinée performance in Manchester. Rachael’s theatre credits include Evita, We Will Rock You, Hairspray and Jersey Boys. Her acclaimed Britain’s Got Talent audition has been viewed over 9 million times on YouTube to date.

Who is the team behind Wonderland at the Palace Theatre?

Wonderland is produced by Neil Eckersley and adapted by Robert Hudson from the book by Jack Murphy and Gregory Boyd.  The show features music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Jack Murphy.

It is directed by Lotte Wakeham (Associate Director of Matilda, West End & Broadway), with musical supervision by Jason Howland (Beautiful, West End & Broadway), choreography by Lucie Pankhurst (Dogfight at the Southwark Playhouse), set design by Andrew Riley (Songs for a New World at the St James and Flight at Opera Holland Park), costume design by Grace Smart (2015 Linbury Prize winner), lighting design by Tony Award nominee Nick Richings (current UK tours of Priscilla Queen of the Desert & The Rocky Horror Show) and sound design by Chris Whybrow.

Wonderland is performed at Manchester’s Palace Theatre from 24 April – 30 April 2017.

After the Manchester run, Wonderland The Musical continues its UK tour until August 2017.  Upcoming dates include London’s New Wimbledon Theatre, Bristol Hippodrome and Liverpool Empire amongst other venues.
