The Subways are set to release their fifth studio album Uncertain Joys ahead of a Manchester gig at Gorilla.

Uncertain Joys is due for release on 13 January and was recorded and produced by The Subways front man Billy Lunn, with mixing from Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby and mastering from Katie Tavini.

The album features the single Black Wax, which followed on from the previously released trio Love Waiting On You, You Kill My Cool and Fight which picked up strong media support.  Alongside You Kill My Cool, the band also released single B-side Oi You Boy Band – a rallying feminist cry against all things pale, male and stale that features lead vocals from bassist Charlotte Cooper and new drummer/permanent member Camille Phillips (The Ramonas).

Fight marked the first taste of upcoming album Uncertain Joys and was the band’s first release without long-time drummer and founding member Josh Morgan who announced his departure form the band in October 2020.

The Subways will be joined on their UK tour by CATBEAR.
