Showstopper! The Improvised Musical hits Salford’s The Lowry on Sunday for two shows during its nationwide tour.

The Showstopper! tour includes a monthly residency at the West End’s Lyric Theatre and a month long run at Edinburgh Festival in August.

Showstopper! takes musical comedy to a new level – a full long-form improv show, completely improvised and different every time.

Olivier Award winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical is a fully-realised musical created live on the spot from audience suggestions. The cast transform from suggestions of setting, genre and style with ingenious storylines and hilarious characters. The audience also name that night’s show, which is added to The Showstoppers’ archive. From Pink Floyd to Stephen Sondheim, via a school, Ancient Egypt or a mattress shop – if the audience can suggest it, The Showstoppers will perform it.

The group behind Showstopper! have been working on the show since 2008, taking on bigger and bigger challenges with each performance and improvising in increasingly esoteric styles, musical, dance, straight theatre, and film genres to name but a few.

When does Showstopper! The Improvised Musical run at Salford’s Lowry Theatre?
