Sea Girls will head out on an indie record store and intimate venue tour next week – including gigs in Manchester and Liverpool.
The exclusive run is in partnership with local independent record stores to celebrate the release of new album Homesick. As part of the run of dates they will perform at Gorilla, Manchester and at Liverpool’s Arts Club.
Sea Girls recently announced another headline tour for later this year including Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse.
Homesick was released on 25 March and hit the number three spot in the UK charts on release.
The album follows the release of their debut album Open Up Your Head.
New album Homesick took shape when Sea Girls’ lead singer Henry Camamile returned to his childhood home in Lincolnshire at the start of the pandemic. He found himself having to confront and reflect on events from his past … the bad and the good. The album now delves in to some of those darkest moments, the gratitude for survival and an inner sense of relief.
Speaking about the process of then recording the album, Sea Girls’ Henry Camamile adds, “Imagine us locked down in the studio in rainy Brixton working with the producers [Larry Hibbitt and Grammy Award winners Jacknife Lee, Jonny Coffer and Cass Lowe] remotely on the album in California’s Topanga Canyon. That clashing of worlds is the sound of this record, the DNA. Making an album this way, remotely and 5000 miles apart, was a crazy idea and shouldn’t have worked, but it did.”
