With their latest album Mattavolution released this week, Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced a UK tour including a Manchester gig at the Albert Hall.

Mattavolution comes five years after the Mexican duo’s previous album.  The album was three years in the making.  Conceived and composed in their studio in Ixtapa on the Mexican Pacific Coast, then road-tested in South America and the USA in 2017, before more fine tuning and further tweaks on their Australian tour of 2018, a long list of new material has been distilled down to six new Rodrigo y Gabriela compositions and one cover.

The duo recently shared a performances video for the track Terracentric.  Speaking about the track and influences, they commented, “Sometimes we need to be self centered in order to be the best version of ourselves for us and for others.  Meditation is a good example of an individual practice that in fact is the most compassionate action we can do for everyone.  Clearing the mind is not only for your own benefit but for the benefit of all living beings. Terracentric is an invitation to look inward, to be a little bit “selfish” for a minute and do what you can for your own sake.  If we all did the same this world would be a very different one. Terracentric is the connection with this earth. Reconnecting with the so called reality of our human existence.”
