Grammy Award Winner Returns To Manchester

After quite a year, one which has seen her scoop a Grammy Award (and almost miss the announcement following a quick dash across the street from the ceremony to get a drink), perform at a series of festivals over the summer, release her debut album and headline UK tours, Foxes returns to Manchester to perform at Manchester Academy 2 on Sunday 7th December.

It’s been a frantic year for the 25-year-old, born Louisa Rose Allen, who burst into the headlines with her Grammy Award Winning collaboration with Zedd on the outstanding track Clarity, before she had even released her own debut album.  The Grammy victory propelled Foxes into the limelight as television and radio appearances followed … and still before her debut album hit shelves.  And when the album, Glorious, was released it went straight into the Top 5 and spawned hits such as the sublime Let Go For Tonight, You and Holding Onto Heaven.

But besides the small matter of the Grammys and a debut album, Foxes has also been busy, hitting the road.  Her UK tour back in March saw Foxes perform at Manchester’s The Ruby Lounge, in a gig showcasing material from Glorious.  It was a sold out gig which thrilled fans and one in which her charm, energy and delight to perform were on full display.  It was a show which also proved that Foxes is a natural performer.

And after that her relentlessly busy year did not slow down.  Festival appearances over the summer at Parklife, Glastonbury, Wireless and T In The Park, amongst others, were followed by a European tour alongside the iconic Pharrell Williams, who caught wind of her cover of the hit single Happy on Radio 1’s Live Lounge and reached out to her to join him on tour.

Now closing the year out with a further UK tour, during which she will also take in London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Foxes is turning her mind towards her next album, which promises to be a more intense process.  It’s an album she has already started writing (amazingly she has found the time during such a whirlwind year), and one which fans will be clamouring for.

Foxes performs at Manchester Academy 2 on Sunday 7th December 2014.
