Following a series of raucous shows across Europe and a summer packed full of festival dates, Pretty Vicious will play a run of UK shows this September including a performance at Manchester’s Sound Control.
Formed in 2014, in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil, Pretty Vicious play punk-infused rock, their live shows described by Clash as “rock ‘n’ roll bedlam”.
First uploading their track Cave Song to Soundcloud in 2014, the band drummed up attention and formed a loyal fanbase. Counting Annie Mac as one of their fans, the Radio 1 DJ has featured two of their singles on her Hottest Record in the World feature and invited them in to record a session at Maida Vale. After Cave Song featured on her Radio 1 show in April, the accompanying video received over 200,000 views in its first week on YouTube. Their single It’s Always There was released on 25 May and has since amassed over 290,000 plays on Spotify.
This success hasn’t gone unnoticed; the band have been booked to play at some of the UK’s most popular festivals, including Bestival and Kendal Calling. Following support slots for artists such as Stereophonics, Catfish & the Bottlemen and Noel Gallagher, Pretty Vicious will head out on their own headline tour in September.
