Manchester’s Palace Theatre and Opera House will be serving up a treat this autumn with a series of outstanding shows heading for the city.  Musicals, comedy, drama, dance and pantomime are part of a packed season of productions being staged at the pair of city centre venues which are steeped in theatrical history.

There’s the world premiere of The Band, as the new musical by award-winning Tim Firth launches based on the songs of Take That.

For dance fans, there’s plenty to see at the two Manchester venues with the return of dance favourites Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace with Tango Moderno; Manchester dancer James Keegans all-new Irish musical sensation TitanicDance; two shows from the English National Ballet (Song of the Earth and La Sylphide) and Tap Factory.

Plus, there’s a journey to the trenches of the First World War with The Wipers Times; and musicals such as George and Ira Gershwin’s Crazy For You (pictured above image courtesy Richard Davenport) featuring Tom Chambers and Caroline Flack, Cilla the Musical starring Kara Lily Hayworth, Spamalot, Evita and so much more.

Christmas also sees John Barrowman appearing at the Opera House for Dick Whittington.  Whilst for the kids Teletubbies: Big Hugs comes to Manchester and Nativity! The Musical runs at the Palace Theatre.
