Manchester gigs - Hello Cosmos

Hello Cosmos share new single | album coming in Autumn

Manchester gig set for September at YES Pink Room

Hello Cosmos return with searing new single Grind Into The Shrine, the first taste of their forthcoming second album Come Out Tonight, due this autumn. The track lands ahead of a string of rare UK live shows including a Manchester date at YES Pink Room on Saturday 13 September 2025.

Sporting a new-look line-up, Hello Cosmos mark their 10th anniversary with a bold statement of intent. Come Out Tonight is described as an ambitious, globally influenced record, featuring collaborations recorded in New York, Los Angeles, Kampala, Leeds, Stockport and Manchester. Produced by longtime collaborator Jamie Lockhart at Greenmount Studios, it marks the band’s first full studio album in over five years, following 2020’s Dream Harder.

Speaking about the record, frontman Ben Robinson said, “A lot of the upcoming record is about finding the strength to switch off digital screens and go out and live. It’s becoming more and more normalised to stay in, comatosed by ultraprocessed food and algorithms firing shallow dopamine hits, keeping us all hooked on a short wavelength, gradually becoming dumber, hopeless and unhealthy… We all need to wake each other up, get off the cool aid of digital apps, social media and algorithmic scrolling.”

Lead single Grind Into The Shrine, released by Cosmic Glue on Thursday 22 August 2025, delivers a blast of post-punk energy and disaffected lyrical bite.

Speaking about the single’s themes, Ben Robinson said, “The single is about adulting, parenting and looking for those slim moments of paradise that take a lot of the daily grind to find. It’s about not letting the world get on top of you and finding the time to live, to get out of the house and celebrate life… Life can be so visceral if you get off your arse and go enjoy it. It’s literally there waiting for you. As with most my lyrics I’m telling myself this as much as anyone else.”

Now billed as Hello Cosmos 2.0, the current line-up features Robinson, his brother Simon (drums), Angela Chan (strings/synths), Isaac Dobson (bass/percussion), Alex Beston (guitar), Frankie Pigeon (sax/synths), and harmonica player Oli Brown. Guitarist Adrian Ingham also features on the new material.
