Gareth Chubb, the promoter behind the hugely successful Micron and Lost In Music club nights, has joined the team at Manchester venue Joshua Brooks X Versions as a managing director. He joins as the venue reverts back to its original moniker of Joshua Brooks and once again becomes a multi-purpose venue with concerts and arts installations run in addition to its traditional club and bar status.
Previously the head of bookings for a three-year period, Gareth Chub helped to guide the club to a number of prestigious awards and now returns as equal partners in the popular Princess Street nightclub alongside existing managing director Simon Leonard.
As for Gareth’s first club night Micron, which this year celebrates its 13th birthday, it was in its earlier days that is was hosted monthly for five years at Joshua Brooks, welcoming not just Manchester, but UK debuts for the likes of Maceo Plex, Tale of Us and Aquarius Heaven.
Speaking of returning to Joshua Brooks, Gareth Chubb commented, “Going back to Manchester and specifically to Joshua Brooks as a managing director is a dream come true. “Having put on parties across Manchester and further afield, I’ve always loved the venue and so to be able to really shape the club moving forward is a fantastic opportunity. “With Micron going from strength to strength and Lost in Music really beginning to take off, I’ll naturally be looking to bring the three brands together, with the first party that I have been heavily involved in being a Manchester debut for Get Down Edits at our next Lost in Music party on Saturday 24 March.”
And in respect of the changing purpose of the venue, he added, “Manchester is changing and its vital for venues across the city to move with the times, we want Joshua Brooks to be seen as a multipurpose entertainment venue. Very much retaining its status as a leading club night, but also welcoming new and unique events… as well as a few legendary nights in the process.”
