Gabrielle Aplin, who is set to perform a sold-out show at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on 28 September has announced a headline 2016 tour which will find her returning to Manchester to perform at the Albert Hall.

The news follows the strong reception to her new album Light Up The Dark, which follows her 2013 debut English Rain.

The artist, who has scored number 1 chart positions in the UK and Australia as well as sales in excess of 1.5 million, says that the new album has been inspired by Joni Mitchell and the production on Feist’s The Reminder.  “Her voice is just here, right at the front, and everything sits around it perfectly,” she comments. “I’ve also become much more comfortable writing songs about other people’s stories as well as my own, much of which is inspired by travelling and everything I’ve seen since my first album.”
