The Soup Dragons are back with new double A-side single Love Is Love / No Music On A Dead Planet featuring Fred Schneider.

The new tracks come ahead of the band’s first live dates with their original line-up in 30 years which open at Manchester Academy 2.  The Manchester gig is one of six UK dates they are headlining.

Love Is Love marks an autobiographic take from Sean Dickson set to guitars, hooks and melodies.  “I wrote it really quickly-it`s about how my 18 year old self would react to knowing that I had grown up gradually realising I was a gay man” he explains, “As a song subject, it`s actually a pretty mind-blowing concept

No Music On A Dead Planet features legendary B-52s frontman Fred Schneider against psychedelic-punk rock.  The track was written by the band and celebrates working alongside Music Declares Emergency, teh climate emergency pressure group.  The track also features additional vocals from Sean, Jim, Sushil and Ross’s grown up children.  “As the song developed, we wanted to emphasise that the immediate future of our planet is far from secure-and that`s why we got our next generation involved” explains bass player Sushil K. Dade.
