Canada’s Slow Down Molasses bring their tour to Manchester’s Peer Hat on Thursday, one of nine UK dates they are playing.

The Manchester gig lands after dates in London, Glasgow, Bristol and Hull amongst others and ahead of sets at Great Escape Festival this weekend.

Slow Down Molasses have never been shy of delving in to new musical territories.  While their 2016 album, 100% Sunshine, forged new sounds within a group already known for constant evolution, it also saw the band develop an increasingly euphoric live performance, which saw them playing on stages worldwide.

The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, four piece now merge the anxious energy of previous releases (coupled with pop influences) with melodic indie rock in their latest album, 2021’s Minor Deaths.  The eight track album makes controlled movements into the indie rock landscape whilst nodding to the nervousness of post-punk.

Slow Down Molasses hit the UK after sharing the stage with the likes of Deerhoof, Animal Collective, Swervedriver and Built to Spill.

When do Slow Down Molasses healdine at Manchester’s Peer Hat?

Slow Down Molasses headline at Manchester’s Peer Hat on 12 May 2022.  The Manchester gig comes just before their performances at Great Escape Festival.
