Blair Dunlop is set to perform the penultimate date of his latest tour at Manchester’s The Ruby Lounge on 24 February 2017.
The tour is in support of Dunlop’s third studio album Gilded, released in May 2016. It is an album which was released to strong critical acclaim. Now, the Re-Gilded tour sees the acclaimed guitarist, vocalist and songwriter performing tracks from his three albums in a stripped back fashion accompanied by his regular musicians JJ Stoney (keys and vocals) and Fred Claridge (drums and vocals).
2016 was an exciting year for Dunlop as in addition to releasing his third full-length album he embarked on a UK headline tour, made his Glastonbury debut and had a busy summer on the festival circuit, including appearances at Bluedot, Cornbury and How The Lights Get In.
Gilded follows on from Blair’s highly praised 2014 release House Of Jacks and his outstanding debut album Blight and Blossom in 2012, which saw him win the BBC R2 Folk Horizon Award. Blair is a story-teller, known for his cerebral life affirming lyrics and Gilded fares no differently. On this record Blair remains true to his folk roots lyrically whilst continuing to push musically into new areas.
