Porcupine Tree have announced a major outdoor show at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl in June 2023.

Ahead of the upcoming sold-out show at London’s OVO Arena, Porcupine Tree have announced a gig at Manchester’s Sounds of the City Festival.

The news follows the release of Porcupine tree’s best selling and hugely acclaimed album Closure/Continuation.  The album marked their first new material in 12 years.

Porcupine Tree are Steven Wilson, Richard Barbieri and Gavin Harrison, and was founded in 1987 by Wilson as an outlet for the experimental recordings he was making outside of his acclaimed post-rock duo, No-Man. Collaborating with keyboard player Richard Barbieri and drummer Gavin Harrison, Porcupine Tree rapidly evolved, releasing ten studio albums between 1992 and 2009.

Each new release saw Porcupine Tree exploring new musical ideas, their expansive music shifting from pastoral psychedelic rock and ambient electronic soundscapes to experimental pop and propulsive metal.
