Australian duo Hollow Coves will release their first album in five years Nothing To Lose ahead of a Manchester gig.

The Manchester gig is one of four UK shows dates they are playing during a huge European Tour.

As well as the gig at Manchester Academy 2, they will headline dates at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club.

The Manchester date will feature an early and late show.

New album Nothing To Lose features their latest single Photographs.  Speaking about the origins of the track, Hollow Coves explained, “We ended up having a conversation in the studio about how photographs used to be something special that people would keep in a photo album. However, now that we can take photos with our phones, it seems like photos will most likely just get lost amongst the sea of photos. Matt (Carins) brought up that his mum has kept a photo album for him and his siblings since they were born. We all thought that was pretty special and kind of a lost art in this day and age. So we decided to write a song about her and the lost art of the photograph.”

The childhood photo album was the spark which ignited the initial ideas for Matt Carins and Ryan Henderson’s new album.  Nothing To Lose takes inspiration from appreciating the day-to-day life; early morning surf trips, getting lost in national parks, the craftsmanship of film, vinyl or even woodworking.

The album finds Hollow Coves teaming with collaborators from their close-knit, beach-town musical community.  It is produced by ARIA winning producer Matt Corby.

Hollow Coves release Nothing To Lose on 1 March 2024.
