The genre-bending French band Tapeworms hit Manchester next month with a gig at Soup fresh off the back of latest single IRL.

The Manchester gig is one of eight UK dates the band are playing.  They will also headline at Liverpool’s Kazimier.

The three piece, take inspiration from day-to-day life and embedding them within a soundscape which takes in genres from indie-pop to electronic to art-pop.

Tapeworks recently released their latest single IRL and hopped about The Go! Team’s track Stay and Ask Me In A Different Way.

IRL found Tapeworks returning after their 2020 debut album Funtastic.  The track was them blend digital strings sections with warped sample solos; mixing synth-pop with indie; and pushing their sound in new directions.  IRL finds Tapeworms exploring the relationship between dreams and real life and phantasm and rality, inspired heavily by Japanese light novel Haruhi Suzumiyua.  The track was accompanied by a video featuring inspiration from livecam websites and early lifecasting macro-stars.

Tapeworms headline at Soup on 4 May 2023.  The Manchester gig is the opening date of their eight show UK tour which will also include a Liverpool date:
