Dream Wife have shared their new single Orbit ahead of the release of their upcoming album Social Lubrication.
The single lands as the trio confirm details of a UK tour including Manchester gig at New Century Hall.
The gig at New Century Hall is one of nine UK and Ireland dates they have confirmed for October 2023.
New single Orbit follows the previously released singles Leech and Hot (Don’t Date A Musician). The track was produced by Dream Wife’s own Alice Go with mixing from Alan Moulder.
Speaking about Orbit Dream Wife explain, “Written through the joy of jamming together and locking into the groove like a multi limbed space age organism, Orbit has a dance rock edge from the early noughties of bands like New Young Pony Club and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Lyrically, it was inspired by post-lockdown London coming back to life and sharing a space through friendship and community. And how each day you never know what’s in store for you or how a stranger can become someone close to you – for a day, a heartbeat, a phase, or a lifetime.”
Upcoming album Social Lubrication was entirely self-written and self-produced with the only outside influence coming in the form of mixing from Alan Moulder and Caesar Edmunds. Dream Wife have described the album as “Hyper lusty rock and roll with a political punch, exploring the alchemy of attraction, the lust for life, embracing community and calling out the patriarchy. With a healthy dose of playfulness and fun thrown in.”
