Genn will headline at Gullivers following the release of the remix project of their acclaimed debut album unum. The Unum Remixes will be released on 23 February via Liminal Collective.
The first taste of the remix album came in the form of Indian producer Goya’s remix of Calypso which landed in January.
The remix marks the first in a trilogy of remixes created in collaboration with three artists from three different countries. The Anglo-Maltese quartet set about selecting artists for the reimagining of unum tracks with a strong focus on PoC and queer artists and the extension of creative freedom and experimentation.
As Genn explain, “We’re excited to kick off the unum Remix project with Goya’s remix of Calypso. As a band, collaborating with other artists is something that we genuinely enjoy as it reinvigorates why we do music in the first place. So when we came up with the remix project idea, we chose three individual artists from three different countries – the UK (Bristol), Malta, and India – who aren’t afraid of pushing the envelope and challenging the norms in their respective countries.”
