Dodgy are set to headline at Manchester’s O2 Ritz, one of five UK dates they are playing as they celebrate 27 years of their best-selling album Free Peace Sweet.

The album marked the biggest success of the band’s career, featuring hits In A Room, If You’re Thinking Of Me, Found You and one of the most played tracks on British radio of the last 25 years, Good Enough.

During the band’s all-to-brief initial run, they sold more than one million records, released three albums and enjoyed 12 Top 40 singles including the massive Staying Out For The Summer.

The band are hitting the road for five shows with their Manchester gig accompanied by dates in Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham and at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town.

Speaking about hitting the road and playing Free Peace Sweet in full, the band said, “We honestly can’t wait to tour this album.  We’re still so proud of it and the making of it has so many happy memories – we know it means a lot to the fans. The album will be 27 when we tour it and we think that’s rather beautiful and serendipitous as the average age of the band was 27 when we made it.”

Dodgy’s 2012 comeback album Stand Upright In A Cool Place, was a long time coming, landing 15 years after the double platinum selling Free Peace Sweet.  From the rave reviews and many media plaudits that were heaped upon ‘Stand Upright….’ it seemed that the original line up of the band had done the impossible – to reform and make a contemporary and relevant album that surpassed their previous work.

Then in 2017 they released What Are We Fighting For, the fifth album from the original line-up of Nigel Clark, Mathew Priest and Andy Miller.  It was also the first album to feature new member Stu Thoy on bass and featured Vanessa Wilson-Best from Ultrasound.

Dodgy will be joined at their Manchester O2 Ritz gig by The Supernaturals and Chris Helme, lead singer and songwriter of The Seahorses.
