Beth Gibbons has announced a run of UK tour dates including a Manchester gig at the Albert Hall in June.  The gig in Manchester is one of three UK dates she has confirmed.

The run will follow the release of Beth Gibbons’ debut solo album Lives Outgrown on 17 May.  The Album features 10 new tracks recorded over a period of 10 years.

The album marks an incredible personal look at life.  Beth Gibbons’ Lives Outgrown marks the result of a period of sustained reflection and change – it bids farewells to family, friends and even her former self; it touches on motherhood, anxiety and the menopause as well as mortality.

As Beth Gibbons explains, “I realised what life was like with no hope.  And that was a sadness I’d never felt. Before, I had the ability to change my future, but when you’re up against your body, you can’t make it do something it doesn’t want to do.

“People started dying,” she continues. “When you’re young, you never know the endings, you don’t know how it’s going to pan out. You think: we’re going to get beyond this. It’s going to get better. Some endings are hard to digest.

“Now I’ve come out of the other end, I just think, you’ve got to be brave.”
