Sisters announce return to Manchester following win at British Country Music Awards

Sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas have enjoyed quite the 2014 – they have experienced a massive sell-out co-headline tour with fellow British Country flag flyers The Shires, which saw them perform a simply awesome gig at Band On The Wall a few weeks back, they have released their incredible debut album From Where We Stand and scooped the award at the the British Country Music Awards for UK Album Of The Year (and anybody who’s listened to it will no doubt testify to its worthiness).  From Where We Stand entered the iTunes Country Chart at number 1 and sat at the top of the OCC Country Artist Album Chart for 5 weeks.

And now the outstanding duo have announced plans for an 18-date UK and Ireland tour beginning in March 2015, which will also see the award winners performing at Manchester’s Gorilla on 23 March.

The hugely talented 20-year old twin sisters received their breakthrough when at sixth form, when a rough demo of their track Footnotes foundits way to the hands of two respected Nashville session musicians.  From there, visits to Nashville, strong song writing, outstanding performances and a sensational debut album have led to appearances on BBC Breakfast and at festival, significant radio airplay and hugely positive press.

We caught up with the hugely talented Ward Thomas at their recent Manchester gig – you can read the interview with Ward Thomas here.
