Royal Northern College of Music – RNCM Opera Scenes. The RNCM opera scenes series continues with its latest free showcase of RNCM singers, furthering their experience of on stage performance with excerpts from a wide range of operas.  Free.  6.00pm

Thursday 4 June:

Royal Northern College of Music – RNCM Brass Band and Black Dyke Band.  The award winning Black Dyke Band and the RNCM Brass Band perform a dual concert as RNCM students perform as soloists with the Black Dyke Band and vice versa before teaming up for a finale.  The programme is set to include Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, Ellerby’s Concertino for Cornet and Lovatt-Cooper’s Enter the Galaxies.  Tickets £10.00.  7.30pm.

Friday 5 June:

Royal Northern College of Music – RNCM Session Orchestra.  The RNCM’s Session Orchestra returns for two nights performing hits by the likes of Michael Jackson, Chic, Al Jarreau and Quincy Jones.  The concert will also take place on Saturday 6 June.  Support comes from Dommylaws and The Boys (5 June) and James Vezer (6 June).  Tickets £10.00.  7.00pm.

Saturday 6 June:

Bridgewater Hall – The Halle.  Elizabeth Llewellyn (soprano), Susan Bickley (mezzo soprano), Richard Hagen (bass) and Allan Clayton (tenor) are featured in a performance of Beethoven’s magnificent Missa Solemnis, conducted by Sir Mark Elder and also featuring theHalle Choir.  Tickets £41.00 – £13.00.  7.30pm.
