Tuesday 17th June

Royal Northern College of Music: Celebrated award winning British contemporary composer Bernard Rands will be discussing his life in the UK and America. 6.30pm. Free admission, no ticket needed.

 

Wednesday 18th June

MediaCityUk – BBC Philharmonic Studio: The BBC Philharmonic will be performing three pieces by Bernard Rands – Danza Petrificada, Concerto No 1 for Cello and Orchestra and Chains Like The Sea. 7.30pm. Free but ticket required.

 

Friday 20th June

Bridgewater Hall: The Borealis Saxophone Quartet will be putting on a lunchtime concert. Free, no ticket required. 12.30pm.

 

Saturday 21st June

Bridgewater Hall: The BBC Philharmonic presents a family concert aimed at children 6-14 and lasting approximately one hours fifteen minutes. The concert will be dedicated to Space and Time featuring the Salford Family Orchestra and tunes such as Williams’s Star Wars theme, Holst’s Mars from The Planets and the Dr Who theme. 3.00pm. Adults £12.50; Children £8.50. Family tickets available.

Royal Northern College of Music: The RNCM Big Band will be performing works by Erik Satie. The band will be conducted by guest conductor Gary Carpenter. 8pm. Tickets from £14.
