Media City. BBC Philharmonic – The BBC Philharmonic holds open rehearsals of Sibelius’ Finlandia and Symphony No. 2 in D major ahead of their Proms performance. Guest Conductor John Storgards. 2pm. Free with no ticket required.
Thursday 14 August:
Royal Northern College of Music. Manchester Pride Chamber Music – RNCM students perform some of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ best known chamber music pieces as well as other compositions by Ashil Aistry, Francis Poulenc and Ethel Smyth. 8pm. Free entry but donations welcome for the Manchester Pride Community Fund.
