Following the release of their latest album Some Of It Was True, Philadelphia punk legends The Menzingers will headline at Manchester Academy.
The band released the album, their seventh studio long player, in October. The Menzingers originally previewed the album with lead single Hope Is A Dangerous Little Thing.
Speaking about the process of putting together Some Of It Was True, The Menzingers vocalist and guitarist Greg Barnett explained, “Written over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, ‘Some Of It Was True’ is the most realized version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago—have fun and be ourselves.”
Some Of It Was True followed on from The Menzingers’ 2019 release Hello Exile and their acoustic re-working of the album in 2020, From Exile. The album found The Menzingers working alongside Grammy-nominated produced Brad Cook who added, “The Menzingers are as real as it gets. I had an absolute blast working with these guys and was moved to tears many times. They are truly dedicated to artistic growth, and to each other, in ways I found both refreshing and beautiful. I am now a lifer.”
Some Of It Was True finds The Menzingers delving in to personal experiences as well as the things happening around them and those who keep the world going.
