Lindian Village Beach Resort in Rhodes has announced is grant 2024 re-opening with the adoption of 380,000 bees.

The bees will support the restoration of the island’s ecosystem.

The Bee Revived initiative is aiming to counteract the ecological damaged caused by last summer’s wildfires.  The project involves the adoption of 19 beehives to address the impact of the fires.

The resort, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is located on the shores of the Greek island.  The 188-room resort features a private beach, freshwater swimming pools, eight restaurants and bars, spa, gym, tennis court and a kids club.

The Bee Revived project will see the resort adopt 19 beehives, supporting a thriving bee population essential for the restoration of the island’s flora, crucial for agriculture. This initiative is projected to facilitate the pollination of approximately 1.6 billion flowers annually, while also supporting local beekeeping families, helping them to sustain their profession. Beekeeping in Rhodes, and all over Greece, is a traditional profession dating from ancient times.

Guests at the resort will also have the opportunity to participate in the Bee Revived project through donations and taking part in new educational honey-tasting experiences that the resort is launching this year.  This will see limited groups of guests escorted to some of the adopted beehives around the island so they can see first-hand how the project is being rolled out.

Led by a local beekeeper and equipped with a special uniform, guests will learn all about bee conservation and honey production. This will be followed by a honey-tasting session featuring local honey from Rhodes and Greece, which will be available for guests to purchase as a memorable souvenir.

As well as the new beekeeping activity, guests have access to 10 experiences within and outside of the hotel. Adults can book a Greek cooking and cocktail, an energetic CrossFit workout on the beach. Younger guests can get involved in a fun pizza-baking session, a pottery class or a cinema night.

Lindian Village Beach Resort Rhodes is located near the historic town of Lindos, with its renowned Acropolis.
