Nashville breakout newcomer Sykamore will headline at Liverpool’s Cavern Club in January – one of two UK headline shows.  She will also perform at The Camden Club in London.

The Liverpool gig finds the Calgary born artist joined by Laura Oakes and Jeff Cohen.

The UK headline dates come after Sykamore released her debut studio album Pinto in August.  The album was produced by Michael Knox and recorded over the course of three separate sessions at Nashville’s Treasure Isle studio.

Sykamore’s album Pinto was recorded with a full band lineup and blends 80’s synthesiser with electric guitars and drums, achieving a sound she had sought after since writing the album’s title track.  The album is equal parts country and pop, reflective and empathetic, taking a look at honesty and vulnerability, strength and freedom and embracing ourselves.

Speaking about Pinto, Sykamore said, “there’s this unspoken rule that women can’t let their guard down, but that’s just not realistic. I let my guard down all the time, and I wanted this record to show that vulnerability, to show that it’s okay to be yourself and share that with the world. I took Sykamore as my stage name because it’s a tree that’s tenacious and strong and has roots that ground it in any weather, and that’s how I want my music to make people feel.”
