Ron Pope has shared his latest single You’re OK from upcoming album Inside Voices which lands in June.  He will headline at Manchester’s Stoller Hall in September.

You’re OK follows the release of The Real Thing in March and To Be Without You in April.  The tracks were accompanied by videos filmed in the same setting as a continuation to one another, and directed by Sean Hagwell and Joshua Shoemaker respectively.  New track You’re OK is accompanied by an animated video from Stephanie O’Byrne.

Ron Pope’s upcoming album Inside Voices was created in the wake of the near-death of his wife Blair in early 2020.  The experience forms the basis of the music, with the album written about a relationship that was explored in song for nearly two decades and ten albums.  It’s collection of songs about growrth, heartache, lasting love, parenthood and living with gratitude.  It was written after his wife’s near-death experience and recorded as he lost both of his grandparents over one eight-day period.

“My grandparents were the kind of ‘crazy in love but also practical, good partners’ that we are,” Pope says.  “They died eight days apart, right as we were working up this music. I waded through a river of darkness during that period and I damn near drowned in it, but when I came out the other side, I was so full of gratitude.”  The ten song journey leads listeners through his transition from son to husband and father, through grief and ultimately, back to joy.
