Stockholm based electro-pop trio Kate Akhurst, Hampus Nordgren and Markus Dextegen, collectively known as Kate Boy, are set to perform at Soup Kitchen on 6th November.

The band, which came together in 2012, has been making waves across the globe, with their electronic beats and vocal hooks striking a chord with listeners, who have been taken with their catchy and addictive tracks.

The tour comes off the back of the release of Kate Boy’s latest single Self Control and in anticipation of the release of their next offering Open Fire which is due to be released on 8th December.

Open Fire marks an evolution of Kate Boy’s sound with a punchy, off beat, bassline building to a chorus of synths, beats and melod chants.

Fans will be delighted to hear that following the success of their debut EP Northern Lights and singles The Way We Are and In Your Eyes which were praised by the likes of SPIN, V Magazine, Vogue and Pitchfork, Kate Boy have been in the studio writing and recording their debut album, which they have produced themselves.

Such was the to see Kate Boy live that in addition to their scheduled gigs in Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and London additional dates were added in Birmingham and Bristol.
