Progressive supergroup, Jane Getter Premonition, is set to perform one of only two UK shows in support of the recent release On at Manchester Academy. Accompanying Jane Getter, who Guitar Player called “the fieriest fretboarding female ever to strap on a Stratocaster,” will be keyboardist Adam Holzman (Miles Davis, Steven Wilson), bassist Stuart Hamm (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai); guitarist Randy McStine, and drummer John Mader (Steve Miller, Pat Benatar).

Commented Getter: “I’m really excited to be bringing my band to the UK!  We will be playing the exciting and hard hitting music from our newly released album, ON, along with a few older hits from Three and See Jane Run. Get ready for some intense jams!”

Recorded at Avatar Studios in New York, On features a stellar line up of progressive and rock musicians – keyboardist Adam Holzman, bass player Bryan Beller, jazz/rock drummer Chad Wackerman and special guests including vocalist Corey Glover, jazz/metal guitarist Alex Skolnick and British saxophonist, flautist and clarinettist Theo Travis. The album was co-produced by Jane Getter and Adam Holzman. Mixing duties were handled by Adam Holzman and Anthony Ruotolo at Spin Studios in Long Island City, N.Y.

Guitarist and composer Jane Getter has played with many jazz and rock greats while garnering increasing recognition as a bandleader, gifted writer and instrumentalist. Early in her career she toured with legendary jazz/blues organist Brother Jack McDuff. Her composing talents received attention when she won the ASCAP Gershwin Award for Music for Dance or Theatre in the mid 90’s. Her debut CD, Jane, in 1998 received worldwide critical acclaim and the 2006 follow up, See Jane Run, was released on Alternity Records (home of Allan Holdsworth). In 2012 she released the progressive jazz/rock album, Three. Getter also received widespread exposure playing in the Saturday Night Live Band.

The Jane Getter Premonition will be supported by Tiny Giant. Chloe Alper (Pure Reason Revolution/Period Pains) has teamed up with multi-instrumentalist Mat Colis, a MOBO and Grammy nominated engineer who has worked with the likes of Jay Z, Charli XCX, The Noisettes and Steven Wilson – and together have created a sound the pair describe as ‘Dream Pop meets Future Rock’. They cite their influences as Cocteau Twins, Battles, Weezer, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Biffy Clyro, Talk Talk and Genesis.

Jane Getter Premonition perform at Manchester Academy 3 on Wednesday 24 February.
