Little Barrie have confirmed the sad news that drummer Virgil Howe, son of rock figurehead Steve Howe, has passed away aged 41.
Virgil’s sudden and unexpected death last night came as an incredible shock to his family and friends.
Barrie Cadogan commented, “We are heartbroken that we have lost our dear friend and brother Virgil Howe. Our thoughts are with his daughter, family and partner. Please respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
Lewis Wharton added, “I am utterly devastated to lose my friend and a positive force in my life.”
Little Barrie had been in rehearsals preparing for their UK tour which was due to start in Cambridge tonight, before playing at Manchester’s Deaf Institute on 19 September.
Tickets for the tour will be refunded from their point of purchase.
