Jessica Lynn has released her new single Not Your Woman, the first track off her new EP Reimagined.
The new single and EP come ahead of her rescheduled UK tour, which will hit these shores, and Manchester’s Gullivers, in May 2022.
Reimagined finds Jessica Lynn performing four completely re-interpreted acoustic versions of her tracks. Not Your Woman is performed as an acoustic piano track, contrasting with the up-tempo original version of the song.
The EP and new single Not Your Woman come after the country-crossover star spent much of the lockdowns reimagining her material for her live-stream events. As she explains, “Since the pandemic started I have been performing piano livestreams every week, where my fans have challenged me to try all different types of music and songs, as well as to approach and rework many of my own songs in totally new ways.
“That’s how the ‘Reimagined’ EP was born. We felt it was well-suited for the times, and would be an interesting way to present some of my most well-known releases.
“A few months ago, one of my UK fans requested one of my most well-known songs “Not Your Woman” as a ballad” Jessica Lynn continues, “and this reimagined version was literally written on the spot. Everyone in the stream urged me to eventually release it… and here we are. I referred back to that livestream video actually while recording the track to capture my emotion and excitement of the moment and I am so proud of how it came out and also so grateful for this time I have been able to spend at home to be creative and explore opportunities like this. I have never released anything before where I was the only instrumentalist on the track, but I am very excited to share with everyone such an intimate and honest version of myself with this new music.”
Reimagined is set for release on 17 September along with the 4-song mini-concert via VEVO and YouTube.
Jessica Lynn tours the UK in May 2022. The tour includes a Manchester gig at Gullivers.
